At Your Best

Recognising and celebrating everything you have to offer can be such a worthwhile activity. Commit to this list and give your self-esteem a boost.

> To get the most from this activity, remember these guidelines

Write the numbers 1-100 down the side of your page. Now start to list your strengths and achievements. These might be significant life achievements or they could be less obvious things you have done which nonetheless feel worthwhile.

This exercise might feel rather daunting at first, but try not to think about the numbers or how far you’ve got. Just keep writing without judging or evaluating your ideas. If you get stuck, keep repeating the last item until another thought comes. If the same thought comes back, write it down again. Keep writing till you get to 100.

Read back over your list. You might wish to group the items if they are connected in some way. You could do this by highlighting related words in the same colour.

What do you notice as you review what you have written? Perhaps it reminds you of what has motivated you or given you a sense of satisfaction in the past, or maybe it encourages you to do something here and now. Write freely for 5 minutes as you reflect on your list.

When you have finished, take a few deep breaths and stretch your body.

You might like to do this quick grounding activity to bring yourself back to the present moment.
